We won a Gemini!
Oct 23, 2009 Awards and Kudos
Hey! Rollbots, the show I Mixed and Sound Supervised (YTV here in Canada, 4Kids in the US) just won a Gemini Award! Congrats to George and Joey on the nod for Best Direction in an Animated Series. Sadly, Serge Cote, my friend, mentor, and composer for the show, didn’t win for the show’s music. Now if only we can convince the Academy to have a separate Sound category for Animation….

This is a link to the spot I did Music and Sound for Parktown Productions that won the Grand Prize. It’s now playing in Cineplex cinema’s across the country. Hey Ma! I made it to the big screen!
A Titanic Effort…
May 15, 2009 Awards and Kudos, Just Stuff
Sorry, bad pun, but I couldn’t resist. I’ve had a fascination with the famous ship looong before Mr. Cameron shot his movie (which yes I do own… hold your snickers…), so it was nice to get a chance to work on something involving the RMS Titanic… This is a little blurb from Kanata Theatre’s Production of Scotland Road, which I did music and sound design for. I have to say, I’d never really researched the MUSIC of Titanic (other than Horner’s score for the movie), and it was fascinating. The debate over the last tune the band played alone, fills hundreds of forums and blogs. There’s a good wiki here. As for myself… well I wasn’t there so I won’t pretend to know…

A nice review of the film “My Dead Girlfriend”, by Brett Kelly, which I provided all the sound and score for.
